I could not pass up the 10% off the already reduced price for Bachmann locomotives at MB Klein last week. All told, the locomotive was just $10 shy of being half off the MSRP. I did not get the ever popular 765, but instead I picked up the NKP 759 that was used in rail fan excursions in 1969 and 1970.

Here are a couple of photo's of that beautiful Berk.

Cheers,
Rich S.

Impressive.
I'm not sure if life is passing me by, or trying to run me over.

Hi Railwaygun, The additional 10% off was only in effect last week, but MB Klein's current discount price is still a very good bargain.
If you'd prefer the NKP 765 over the NKP 759, you better hurry as there is only one NKP 765 left in stock.

Thanks everyone for the compliments  :thankyousign:

I confused MB Klein with an EUROPEAN shop!

I picked up an Atlas Conrail MP15DC and a three pack of Bluford Shops Conrail 3 bay hoppers at the recent Altoona, PA train meet.

I also had a chance to see the new Scale Trains N scale Conrail and Norfolk Southern C39-8 models. They look fantastic, anyone modeling these lines in the 1980, these locomotives will be a welcome addition to your layout.

For more information on the Scale Trains C39-8, have a look at this web site: https://www.scaletrains.com/collections/rivet-counter-n-scale-ge-c39-8

Had a raid on ebay last week -much to my benefit ! I know -not eveybodies a lover of that market place -but for me there are loads of bargains if your on the ball  . It's been raining here most of the day -so inside and onto test /programming track .First up was a kato sd40/2 bnsf -bargain

No marks and runs like new !
Not American #1 but to be used on my layout -the infamous tomytec cleaner.

I know there stiff to move about so I went looking for a loco to pull it -up popped this for £40 -as new and runs perfect

It's heavy- powerfull -and once I've raided the coupling stock will be universal in the fleet (microtrains everytime) ! Two problems -1. The tomytec is dc and will need a dcc conversion -which I'm looking into !  2. The coupling are rapido () and due to the pickup situation I cant replace them . Sooooo.

Not American #2  barrier ( coupling conversion wagon) £3.50

This I can convert at one end

And finally I've wanted some for ages -set of ballast wagons -came up cheap -so I bought !!

Regards

Neil

Well done, Neil.

You can't go wrong with Kato - simple, well designed mechanisms, top quality fabrication - the way N scale equipment should be. The SD90 will have zero problems with the Tomix track cleaner. I have a Kato AC4400 which I believe has the same mechanism as your SD90 which can pull a CMX track cleaner as well as a cleaning car equivalent to your Tomix but branded as Atlas.

No DCC track cleaner on my layout so I can't help you with this I'm afraid. Mike Fifer has good advice though.

Disappointment at the further and unknown delays to my 2015 Intermountain F7 A+B units order added some pocket-burning heat to the money put aside and so the North Sea Coastal RR western extension leg that is currently under construction sees a visitor from the CN - an Atlas GP40 that I have been resisting ever since we went to Canada a couple of years ago. Now I have to resist buying the matching one to make an operating pair. Iím fighting to retain some integrity with my memories of only seeing single gp38/39/40 locos on our trip...😎
