Wot , mad and French  :D

They remind me of the sort of act I used to see at down at heel jazz dives in parts of Germany.

Likewise.
I'm in the train room for a bit tomorrow  morning doing aa bit of tidying up so a good chance to give that little lot a listen.

@Newportnobby    @Moonglum  @port perran   It's a very varied mix of stuff, I hope you'll like some of it - some you probably won't  :)

fyi I was the drummer for track #2 Space Muck Mother, which was a live gig recording back in 1997. Not sure if I can still play it at that speed now - not without a lot of warm-up first anyway!

A couple of the other tracks I know from bands contemporary with us back in the 90s, but the vast majority are new to me :)

@ntpntpntp , I did briefly listen to track 2 and noted the very open and forward hi-hat in the mix at the beginning! I am no drummer though - didn't realize that you are!

When I listen to something new (en masse), I tend to give each track about 20 seconds and if it hasn't grabbed me by then I move on to the next one. So, we shall see how it goes in due course.

I have though now listened to all of track 2, bit Hawkwindy in places...

That guy in the beginning was very talented to get that conch to sound like a french horn....

That's a blast from the past @kusojiji ! I recall Roger Whittaker appearing on the TV a lot during the 60s/70s and he only died in 2023. I quite liked "Durham Town", a bit cheesy by today's standards...

He had an interesting past and life story.

Talking of oldies, I have just been clearing out under my test track and came across a vinyl "Sing a new song" by the Settlers, an old 60's Birmingham group.  The Settlers lead singer was Cindy Kent who is now a vicar and regularly does Songs of Praise on the BBC. I remember seeing them live in Reading, besde the river Thames next to the Reading Rock festival site.  The vinyl still plays well and includes a brilliant Streets of London and Nowhere Man

Some 'All About Eve' this morning including this very pleasant ditty

port perran

I know little about All About Eve but as you say it's a pleasant enough little ditty.
I did spend the whole time waiting for it to "get going" though.

Great band.  I never saw them play live but I do love their music.  The bass player used to curate and host a local evening radio show down my way. I discovered loads of good music which suited my taste :)

Infamous for their appearance on Top of The Pops when they couldn't hear the backing track and didn't start performing/miming when the music started :)

Well, I listened to that right through.

Definitely not music to have on whilst concentrating on something else.

Much as it is perfectly good stuff it is just not the sort of thing I enjoy I'm afraid so none of it, sadly, will find a way onto any of my playlists.

Thank you for sharing though.

Moonglum

I also skimmed through the M-F-Continuum and there were a couple of tracks I quite liked but to be honest I found most of it a bit over whelming, sorry Nick @ntpntpntp . All About Eve was pleasant light relief...
