Hello Trillickman,

There will be 250 of each in the first production run.  Experience tells us that the first to sell out will be the BR versions.  We are doing 3 of these: plain crimson, crimson and cream and maroon.

In this case the chocolate and cream look really nice too and I suspect these will also be popular. We're having two in chocolate and cream.

The more austere liveries take longer to sell, so I imagine then plain chocolate. Blue and olive "enparts" will be the slowest sellers.

I have not spoken to the shopkeeper recently so I am not sure what the order status is, but with the inspection saloon the BR maroon and lined LMS versions sold out almost immediately.

If there is a particular one you want, why not pre-order it?  These will only ever be available to NGS members and it's not as if the price is going to change...?

Cheers

Ben A.

We now have some photos of the livery samples for the K41s (reposted with Ben's kind permission). These are just samples so issues such as wobbly lining should not appear on the production runs. In addition, we have already identified the following issues that need to be addressed.

  • Wrong shade of GWR chocolate, the sample has a slightly greenish tinge.
  • Droplights are too light on the GWR liveries, they should be a deep indian red rather than a bright red.
  • Axel boxes should be painted blue on GWR liveries
  • Pipework should be painted black.

A further batch of samples has been requested to address these issues. If anyone spots anything else, please feel free to flag it up.

Well, that's just not good enough. Some fount of all knowledge you are!   ;)

Subject to some minor colour changes these are looking excellent.

They look lovely, can't wait to get mine and I think I'll buy a couple more in different liveries.

I'd like to order 2 or 3 of these but am loath to send off a cheque as the shop is presumably closed.
Advice please?

Must check on my order for what livery I'll asked for. Probably definitely need more.

Await reply to Mick's enquiry with interest.

Have I missed the info re final price, please?

We have no information on the final price until Dapol have delivered them (or at least produced them!).

Please see the earlier announcements about the closure of the NGS Shop.  At the moment nothing has changed, but we hope to be able to make an announcement shortly.

I think that the NGS stand will still take deposits for Colletts (and it may be possible to extend this to postal orders, but please wait for confirmation on that).

Cheers, Mike

For any NGS member wishing to place a late pre-order for the Collett BG, we hope to provide in the next few days an online facility at www.ngsjoin.com to order models and pay deposits.  One or two of the liveries are already close to being sold out and once we have more details we will 'go live'.

Which liveries are close to sold out? I am guessing the Maroon and Choc/cream versions.

That'd be great. I'm definitely up for one now I've seen the prototypes, and paying online would be extremely convenient.

Sorry!  This post appears today on the Society website re the proposed online facility:

Further to the recent announcement it appears that it is going to take several days before we have an accurate picture of quantities already ordered.  Only when we have the relevant information will we be in a position to accept further pre-orders.

These coaches do look lovely - well done to Ben and the team.  One question though, the BR lined maroon looks rather dark/dull - is that just the picture?

Many thanks

Maroon is one of the shades that had a fair bit of variation. Looks a similar shade to the Dapol B-set, although I admit this is probably at the darker end of the spectrum.

I guess the real question is how it looks next to Dapol's maroon collett stock. I know the GWR chocolate was not quite the right shade (nor was it on Dapol's recent autocoaches). Perhaps Dapol have moved to a new factory?

Ben, is there any chance of seeing a shot of W112W next to a maroon dapol collett for comparison? It would be nice to see how well it matches.
