Isn't it just a beautiful little model in every way, there was absolutely no way I could resist it.
I have just bought a Roco EMU Treibwagen in Maroon(Battery accumulator powered I believe in real life) and am negotiating for the same in the red and cream livery.Another little gem(also available apparently in a green livery) and a centre car is/was available.
No real justification to be at PARIS Gare de L'Est apart from rule 1 except I suppose they could have been undergoing trials with the french railways!.

Well negotiations fell through with the different vendors of the EMU German railbuses in red and cream livery but I had a fallback position with another vendor and purchased their red and cream version fo 75% of the price the others were asking so I also bought from that vendor  2 minitrix CIWL Brown coaches with lighting with the balance saved and another 25 euros.I now have a 6 set of brown CIWL coaches,Minitrix as well as an 8 set of the Kato blue CIWL coaches.
Too bad I cannot afford the HENSCHEL WEGMAN SET nor the TEE diessel set but the  rest are coming along nicely..

Yeah, the transparent plastic on the packaging was a bit grubby which made me hesistate for a few weeks, but when the guy in the shop got it out it definitely had that certain "ich weiss es nicht" and he was cooing over it too, asking me where it was from / when it was built etc.

Anyway it looks just fine on my Anglo-German-Japanese working museum railway  :claphappy:

Edited to add: Wikipedia has some more info, apparently the cars whos vehicle numbers this set has are preserved. It seems they survived into the 1970s.

It looks more than fine,it's a little superstar as indeed I hope mine will be as well as my all maroon and also my red and cream accumulator railbuses.
There's just something about them that makes them so appealing and so special looking, yours looks superb in action, absolutely wonderful my only query is how did you manage to leave it sitting on a shopkeepers shelf for so long.perhaps you needed to go to specsavers!!! :claphappy:

Cool. I wonder if there's a centre coach available in N for the ET85? There seems to be one for HO.

my only query is how did you manage to leave it sitting on a shopkeepers shelf for so long.perhaps you needed to go to specsavers!!! :claphappy:

Natural born prevarication, and also this little chap was distracting me.

Along with the Brawa V160, this Arnold Rlmms wagon joined the fleet. In contrast to some of my older wagons, the detail on this is beautifully picked out, with a dash of white behind red painted levers. Seen in the loading dock, and slightly more square on.

A Roco DB stores wagon. Will go well with some other early-ish DB era maintenance vehicles I have. The Roco packaging hasn't stood the test of time, but the wagon itself looks like it only recently rolled off a production line.

More than a year after buying my Kato TGV-SE I've FINALLY found one of the rare second-edition four-car add-on sets. It arrived in the post this morning, thus giving me a complete rake.

Don't worry, the hammer in the photo is for my 1:1 workbench :D

Nice one. Looks like you might need a larger table to run it on, though!

Nah, I'm sure just one more Kato straight section and an auto-shuttle unit will provide enough interest  :smiley-laughing:

A few bits and bobs have arrived to embellish the station platform. Chris (in Prague) recently let me have some luggage/mail trolleys (thanks Chris) but I needed more details as well. I've got a long(ish) - six coaches - platform along the front of the layout. The seats etc that come with the kit are for a double sided platform, whereas I'm using it as a single platform without a canopy (anyone want some canopies?!). Anyway, Noch have just released some nice looking subway entrances; a little expensive for what they are but much better looking imho than the Metcalfe one. Some Faller railings, a set of Noch platform seats and we may be onto something. Watch this space!

Just arrived, the Fleischmann DB V100 in epoch 3b "altrot" livery... my (23 year old) Arnold version just doesn't run smoothly whatever I do, new motor, umpteen cleans/fettles... so I bit the bullet and purchased this...

Seems a tad noisy, but smoooooooth...
