Consist Addressing and other CV calculations
« on: January 08, 2014, 12:50:03 AM »
Want an easy way to work out what's what in  controlling consists ie headlight light only on lead loco with rear on trailing unit.

Don't if this has been previously listed, but will certainly make like easier for those those "awkward" values by creating and giving your the decimal answers.

Digitrax CV calculator http://www.digitrax.com/support/cv/calculators/

Easy to use and most options covered in a simple manner.

(created this as a previous link is now dead)

Hello, Can you please help me - I am having terrible trouble trying to get a DCC on board Bachmann Street Car, I programmed on DCC to run back on my DC layout, where it belongs, do you know if that Digitrack info you kindly gave in your message would work on a Bachmann model?
I am new to DCC and older than I like  :smiley-laughing: so if this seems a stupid question it is because senior moments are regular  :'(

Thanks,
Fred

No such thing as a stupid question - if you don't know; you don't know

Bachmann chips follow the the standard NMRA CV listings (www.nmra.org as do Digitrax so the answer is Yes.

Here is a link for the general Bahmann settings http://www.bachmann.co.uk/pdfs/DCC_onboard_general.pdf

I've been unable to find and more specific decoder sheets for the Streetcars but the above should help.

Failing that, you could post directly on the Bachmann forum - http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/board,3.0.html - I've never used it myself, but one would hope that someone there can help if need be.

Colin

Another useful CV29 and CV1 address calculators. This one lets you enter a value and then gives back the answers.
