I do most of my resizing and chopping with The Gimp. It can import pdf files into bitmaps and you can then play fast and loose with them including doing stuff like moving windows and doors about before printing.

It's worth being careful with free downloads btw. There are people with a nasty habit of rebundling perflectly valid and legal freely redistributable windows apps with all sorts of trash of their own that installs crap on your PC. The biggest culprits are also often not dodgy pirate sites but supposedly reputable review and "magazine" type sites.

Almost always best to get something from the original vendor or hosting site for the product/project.

For just resizing most systems will let you set the print scaling when you hit "print". That may waste a bit more plain paper, although sometimes of course you can use the "print two pages per sheet" option 8)

Thanks EP.

I have loaded the "months free trial" of Adobe XI, this is working fine. I then saw the price to buy it afterwards Shock horror I could buy a Blue Pullman and the Brighton Belle for that amount!!!
I will try Gimp out next month.
