As they are unlikely to arrive before Christmas (slow boats from China etc :hmmm:) there's maybe time to ask the relatives for vouchers from your favourite emporium to put under the tree ;)

The book 'Railway Liveries - Southern Railway' by Brian Haresnape published by Ian Allan in Chapter 2: The Bullied Years, 1937 - 1947 has a photograph of Bullied postwar main-line loco-hauled corridor set No. 290, with restaurant cars. In plain malachite green, with grey roofs, black underframes and bogies. (Some coaches had green ends; some black.) Set number 290 painted in golden yellow, unshaded. 'Sunshine' lettering in yellow and black on bodysides.
If these Farish models are of later coaches perhaps the conversion sides could used to obtain some SR stock. I model the 1923-1947 era with LMS and SR and these seem to be the last to be available although there are a number of steam locomotives due to be produced in LMS and SR liveries.

Conversion sides should be able to give you stock from mid 1946. The earliest Bulleid stock from late 1945 was 59' stock and so a bit different. The early 1946 stock was also a bit odd (the so called 'multidoor' stock plus experimental coach 5751).

Sets 770-793 just about make your period but for almost all of it were fitted with additional non standard detail (vent hoods) owing to a lack of supply of the ventilators that were mostly fitted in late 1947 early 1948

The Bournemouth six coach sets just about make the period too.

That was a very good post, very informative. The coaches look very nice. Unfortunately I have 4-5 Mk 1 SR coaches at present and can't justify buying the Bulleid models. :(  However the blood and custard versions looked pretty good so perhaps a future buy.
