Over-user of brackets and quotation marks.

The depth of the grey part of Blue/Grey livery was different between HST and loco hauled Mk3's

Cheers

Hello.
Dapol has received samples of the East Coast and GNER versions.
See here: https://www.dapol.co.uk/N-Gauge-HST-deco-samples-have-started-to-arrive

The East Coast seems astonishing !

These locos and wagons are looking for a new home! (updated on 23 August 2018 - new items!)

- Union Mills, 0-6-0 3F steam locomotive in LMS crimson (N gauge)

Both looking really good IMO.

Would perhaps have gone with later GNER livery with the silver lettering as that was around for a lot longer IIRC.

The yellow-gold lettering was the later version - the silver-white came before that.

Hi The Black piece of plastic fits between front bogie and fuel tank and the other leg against the packaging. Is sole purpose is to hold solid the motorised vehicle with in the packaging. I guess the slight amount of give in packaging and a high seas tossing might have led to transit damage and this was put in to stop.

Hello All,
Has anyone successfully changed the headlights/nose on a Dapol HST? I'm slightly disappointed that Dapol have made the post-Valenta powercar as opposed to the Valenta 43 in GNER and am wondering if I could change this? (Pre-order number 2 might be cancelled)
Regards,
Philip

I'll need to check the models, but is the lighting section removable or is it a different body variation (i.e. moulded as part of the bodyshell)?

As regards lights, technically the newer light clusters are not post-Valenta for GNER power cars - they were fitted before the engines were changed. It was mostof the other fleets where they were done at the same time as the engines.

Post Valenta exploded diagram

Origianl HST exploded diagram

Thank you! I shall try to acquire an original dummy unit and will then attempt to replace the lighting on the GNER dummy unit! The diagrams look fairly simple but in my experience Dapol locomotives are a nightmare to open up!

Philip

@G_N_E_R  the light apertures are super glued in, once you try and take them out of the body they tend to break off as incredibly brittle.  Parts 30/31/32 on Lindi's Diagram.
