Thank you all for the kind words. I was born in Perth and lived at Gleneagles so this is very much a "Home" project although I now live in Larbert.

It has been many years in gestation but now coming to fruition thanks to a very kind model layout practitioner.

I am not certain that the large gap between levels will be the final setup. I await the outcome.

The next progress will be to lay more track in the coming weeks and have the DCC wiring arranged, point controllers etc. installed.

It was due to be brought to me in early April but due to the current difficulties due to coronavirus I have suggested a delay until July. However work will progress as far as possible before location in my house.

Please take care everyone and Stay At Home Help Save Our NHS  And Save Lives.

I will post further updates as available as well as the finished article!

Cheers,

Brian

The distance between the top layer and fiddle yards is 440mm as per the heights on the plan.  The main reason for this is to ease the putting on and taking off of stock in the fiddle yard.  It’s the greatest spacing allowable with the ruling gradient and the slope space available.  Each board is solidly connected from base to top level In a kind of 3d jigsaw.  They’re all bolted and dowelled together and should come apart for transport.

New pics with some ballast laid following.

Lawrence, I wish I could take the credit. However the layout is being constructed for me by Chris Gough.
