Re: A.E.M N Gauge kits new 3D Printed 10000 - 01 Kit
« Reply #15 on: March 01, 2019, 06:09:20 PM »

the only flaw that I will ask the designer to look at is, there are chassis retaining clips inside the shell, but these are too thick and pull the chassis up to high into the shell, preventing the bogies from moving.
Can you advise when the items available from Shapeways will be modified for sale? Thanks, Brian

I mentioned it to him last night and was told it wouldn't be a problem, It may be worth sending the seller a pm before you purchase just to check he has done it.

I am still waiting on Gareth to check that the 10000 bogie side frames are OK after the issues we had with the CO BO under frame being the wrong sizes.

Some photos of the 3D printed 10000 kit in undercoat. only a few areas need to be smoothed down.

Whilst I am on here, we are no longer using the scot-mrc  eBay to sell our products, we will use the Facebook page and look at creating a Wix webpage for non Facebook members.

We will be selling this 10000 once completed and Gareth will quote a price in the next week and take orders to do a run of 4 - 5 models.
I will post up details, once we are set up with a new page.

Cheers Mark

Afraid not, to many complaints about the castings and difficulty building it.

coincidental that I put the nickel silver master up for sale today on our Facebook page

Thanks for the reply. That's a shame. I suppose it could be dropped onto a spare chassis?!?

We spent time on each resin casting to make them look presentable prior to posting them and it wasn't really worth the extra hassle.

i will have a look to see if anything is left next week

Call me scrooge if you like but 14 inc post for these is not value for money IMHO!!!!!! I'll modify what I've got to make a reasonable representation.

I think your outburst is exceedingly rude as we all know the price of 3D printed items and all AEM has done is point you to where you can get the bogie frames you want.
You also have a sticky Shift 1 key or are doing a good impersonation of a certain President. Tone it down a bit please.

I have spent the last 24hrs pondering if I should reply to the last post, which in itself could be considered unneccesary - a PM to me might well have been the polite way to deal with the perceived offense. I do not want to start a tit for tat exchange over this. So if I have upset anyone else I apologise, no rudeness was intended. But I still stick to my personal opinion about the overall cost of the parts.

These are nearing completion, Once finished, our model maker Gareth is taking a few months off from doing commissions so he can start his own layout and finish a few other models off.

I will keep the Facebook page up to date and post up any new developments on here.

Re: A.E.M N Gauge kits Brand New Web Page
« Reply #26 on: April 22, 2019, 02:34:24 PM »
A.E.M will now be known as Leicester Modeller's

By request from a lot of none Facebook members we now have a new Web page - photo page with albums of our work and items for sale as well as N Gauge features and reference.

It is an ongoing process and I was working on it yesterday from 8pm till 4am this morning. over 250 photos have been uploaded and there is still more to do.
Resin kits that we have in stock will be added in the next few days.

Can I ask that if you have any interest in anything please email us directly to leicestermodellers@gmail.com I only ask this because my free time is rather limited and I don't have the time to go through every model railway forum and group to answer questions.

new link is here. there is a menu bar and I suggest you select "ALBUMS" for easier viewing.

Glad to hear that your enjoying the modelling side of the hobby.

There will nothing new resin kit wise. Maybe some other 3D prints in the future but nothing to announce yet.

The Class 17 was a Parkwood kit.

Skinhead 31 shell is in molding and will be out at the same time as some other resin kits

Class 81 will not be happening as a resin cast. the Class 85 is now discontinued and the master has been put up for sale and there are a couple of resin kits that need to be tidied up and packed with the other bits, then they will be put up for sale.

On the new photo page, There is an album called latest information and updates, I will post info in there as and when we have some. https://www.flickr.com/photos/leicester-modellers/albums/72157677867482207

I have checked the Flickr page on a PC and mobile phone, the mobile phone was not showing everything up that was written on the actual album name, so the BR Blue JPEG's with white writing are what I have had to do, to make the site mobile friendly.

tomorrow I will be having a massive clear out of everything and any N Gauge spares that are of no use to me,  may be listed up during next week.

The page is not even a week old and we are nearly at 17000 hits, I'm not sure if that's good or bad for this hobby but very pleased that people are taking a look.
