Yes, superbly atmospheric shots. Love the girder in the foreground. Could be standing there!

I would also love a class 117 in N gauge. I think that Dapol are considering making one, but nothing has been announced or confirmed.

Hi Everyone,

Tonight I've been doing a tad more modelling, tho to some coaches rather than the layout.

I've sat branding my Farish Blue & Grey Mark 2A's with Inter-City branding. I rarely recall seeing many without it in the 80's & I think they look better with it.

This formation is on tonight's 1940 Bangor (Gwynedd) to Cardiff Central service calling at Shrewford's Platform 7. Hauling it is a ScotRail class 47 getting a run out from Crewe works 47710 Sir Walter Scott piloting a more usual Class 33..

Cheers for now,
Mark

Hi Mark,

As Alan Partridge would say... lovely stuff!

Great pictures, layout is coming along very nicely indeed.

Hi everyone,

Many thanks for the great comments as always  :thankyousign:

Well, it's finally here, my first attempt at a video albeit only short, also apologies for the slight shakiness during the filming, hopefully this will improve if I do more...

It also shows I've been working on the embankment where the Abbey stands this evening.

Hi everyone,

Well, nowt better on a wet saturday than to play trains  :P Ha!

& Even better, no summer saturday would be complete at Shrewford in the 80's without the extra loco hauled trains down the cambrian featuring Class 37's.

There were 3 extras, 2 to Aberystwyth (Cambrian Coast Express) & One to Pwllheli (The Snowdonian)

It's 1986, These pictures show the up Cambrian coast Express, the 1110 Aberystwyth to London Euston, the 1325 off Shrewford. This working was a Railfreight Class 37 complete with Raspberry Ripple Mark 1's...

The train is seen on the approach to Platform 4 with 37506 in charge

The 37 is then uncoupled to run round the train & re couple to the other end as the train reverses here

And then departs, the 37 will be replaced by Electric traction at Wolverhampton for the remainder of the run to London.

Cheers,
Mark
