I'm much happier with the tender detail.  There are just no accurate drawings and few photos, however I have merged what I have.

That really highlights why firemen didn't like it!

Fantastic work bloke.

I just assembled the wheels for the tender and they are a very good match.

The tender body has printing distortion due to too few support struts.   I can now hollow the tender to fit the wheels and to take the DCC decoder and speaker.

Wiki says 6 tons coal and 3,500  gallons, there hardly looks room for 6cwt

40 cubic feet of coal weighs approximately 1 ton so 240 cubic feet.  That is 7.079e+9 cu mm which you divide by 148^3  giving 2183 cu mm or 2 cubic cm which is about correct.

The fire irons slot is too thin so has not printed however I am very happy with the rest.  The split of body and base is a friction fit and all I need to do is now adjust the alignment of the wheelbase and to incorporate the pickups.

Adjusted chassis so the tender sits at the correct height. I now need to sort out how to secure the pickups.

I completed the CAD today and subject to any adjustments thrown up in printing I'm now going to run several prints to adjust the quality of printing.

Im happy with the prints and have tidied up a set as shown including opening up the holes for railings and other details.  Next stage will be to build and paint.

I am also running some tests on a different resin which is harder and if the tests come out as expected I might try her with that resin.

I am listing the print on Shapeways and the price they are giving me is around 42 + pp in Fine Detail Plastic.

I can also supply it direct in grey resin for 28 inc postage and storage box (PM me).

As an aside I printed it in a harder tougher resin.  The new resin is much stronger and is like a chassis plastic with a smoky clear appearance.  It can be sanded but not so easily, so is ideally suited to structure.

I have been preparing the print and drilling out the holes for the handrails.  Like all my models I give lots of time for the paint to harden.

I have added the railings and other fittings and given it a basic GWR loco green.  It's curing and It should be ready to start the main painting later this week.
