The Sonmel boffins have intercepted a transmission from a passing satellite, affording this unusual view:

As can be seen, only one major area of the island remains completely "undeveloped". There are calls for more housing, however, the available area will have spectacular views to the west of the quarry rock handling plant.  :hmmm:

Where will the mermaid and her little rock be, I wonder? What is her name, I wonder? 8-)

Smashing view of the layout, Keith. I never realised Gary Powers was still flying his spy plane about :no:

Keith, it's looking good! Had my 80th birthday this week, but I feel good and do a little every day. Two years or four years, will be just fine for me - and every day is an adventure. :)

Thank you Leon, and many happy returns to you!

Hope that I will be modelling for many years to come. Iím in no rush and Mrs Keith is worried that when I finish this layout I will want to build another. (Iím already planning...)

I think that I have posted on your thread that retirement offers the chance to do things at a more reasonable pace, and I have found with Sonmel that the bits that I have rushed I have either re-done or will be re-done. And as you say every day is a new adventure ( currently thinking about motorising a point and maybe installing some lighting...)

 :beers:

I have "re-done" quite a few bits and didn't think I had rushed them at the time! The problem with life and this flamin' forum, is that you keep finding new, (and better), ways of doing things!  :doh: But thanks to everybody who keeps putting in their twopennorth.  :thumbsup:. As @Leon says, "two years or four years......" - who is counting? And belated birthday greetings Leon.

Local sculptor, Pablo Moore, has been commissioned to provide a tourist attraction for the harbour area. Inspired by recent (I probably need to check my time lines here,  :uneasy: ) sightings in the Cornish town of Cant Cove he has produced this masterpiece:

Pablo has criticised the local landscaping workers for not completing the grass seeding in the area. He is also critical of the quality of the road surfacing. Such is his "artistic fervour" that there are rumours that he may demand that his magnificent sculpture is relocated to another harbourside area more fitting for his work.

{Some readers will be pleased to see that the sculpture of the Mermaid comes complete with her very own treasure chest}

It is a splendid work of art!

(Great to see that the mermaid arrived safely, as did the two sets of transparent drawers! Nothing to do with female undergarments. )
