Kato RhB WR 3822 Restaurant (same as announced by Pirata) ready for the hard work. The 'Kitchen' window isn't the right size but it was what was available from the AB build. I will apply two small access doors on the kitchen end after the paint is stripped.

Another Kato part which fits.

And now we can sit and watch how Kato will announce these cars (AB, Restaurant) on Friday   ;)

I know this is not exactly the place but I have been wondering about a "generic" RhB flat in the manner of Pirata but perhaps resin off a plastic master or perhaps a 3D one if anybody can make one fine enough. The kit could come with both styles of staunchens, singles or doubles and those odd "sideboards". The bogies could be narrow enough to accept Fox Valley 33" wheels on 0.559" axles and be fitted with both adaptors for Rapido/Kato couplings and  MT 1015 couplings; cut off the one you don't need. A sheet of decals covering them and other common RhB vehicles?

It's just a pre-Christmas thought but an expensive assembled and painted etched generic flat just does no do it for me. A 3 wagon consist would be Ä240 + postage.

Could it be "Crowd Funded" I wonder as an RTR?

Cheers,

Mike Beard.

In addition to Ge4/4II as  618 and 623...

...a quote from 1zu160 web site:

The catalog also indicates that, based on customer suggestions, further models are being used for the Rhaetian Railway. A picture collage shows a number of different models and also some freight car variants. Announcements will be made at a later date.

For the promised 618 and 623 - for those interested in topicality and accurate era operation:

618 has now lost the Edelweiss livery - so in the end it was carried for 5 years from 2013 - 2017
623 retains the 125 Jahre livery so has carried it for 6 years so far

Found some time laying around and stripped these two, filled in all the gaps with putty and used some elbow grease to sand them smooth. I'll leave them alone for some days to let the putty cure some more. Will put some more putty on and repeat.

Its been a bit quiet on here lately, so here's my latest Ge4/4 III. 648 in Lanxess livery, usual applies, converted to Nm, AB handrails, Micro Trains Z couplers. Lanxess decals are printed at home, many thanks to those who supplied graphics/photos to enable me to produce them. It took several goes to get them just right but got there in the end.

That looks pretty good. The decals certainly don't look home made.

retica actually supplied the graphic for Lanxess so a big thank you to you Steve. The cab side decal on the black part is taken from a photo supplied by a kind person and modeller but cannot name as he supplied them for my personal use only. The data panel on the lower red part is a spare from an AB Modell decal sheet I had lying around. Printed on white decal paper and sealed with a clear gloss lacquer as inkjet ink is water soluble. Whole model is then coated with a satin acrylic varnish to seal it. I have also done 647 in its yellow Capito lovery and will post a photo in due course.

Great work. I read your requests for logo help, and amazed to see how soon you have produced the finished result.

Looking forward to seeing the Capito liveried 647.

Here is the Capito liveried Ge4/4 III. Decals were done for the whole side including the grey. I may redo this loco as the yellow paint I mixed up is not as pale as the yellow in the decal, its either that or try and change the yellow slightly in the decal. Again, the decal paper is white, I did spray the model in white primer. Converted to Nm with my usual details, although some parts I am awaiting stock as I have run out.
