German Euro-Epxress coach info wanted
« on: November 05, 2013, 08:20:14 AM »
Hello all.

Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction. I am after some information on these coaches. The only I.D. marking i could find on the coach was 'Am' which at first I thought may indicate an ex 'Aimz' which was a first class compartment coach ex InterRegio. But with a little research I have found these to be 'Am' series coaches? 'ABm' 223 ? Similar or same as the Classic Courier coaches?

Are these available RTR in 2mm in this livery? The only coach i have found near to the livery is from Rivarossi 9622 / 9623 but is sold as a FS coach with FS markings.

I know the coaches are normally for charter trains, but i'm currently modelling the HKX (Hamburg - Koln Express) I have the AVMZ coaches on the way to me, but this train runs with a right mix bag of old (historic) stock including 1 or 2 of these sometimes.

Another shot of this coach, in the same train but with HKX vinyl's applied. These were taken at Koln 11-10-13 by myself. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Another coach i would also like to include in the train would be this one..

The markings on this coach were 'ABomz' This would indicate a first class class corridor/compo but it has been declassified to a 2nd. Looking at the Arnold DR Halberstädte coaches and i think HN4142 is the one (but with the DR symbols and 1st / 2nd markings removed) The other coach Arnold produce (HN4074) is a 'Bom'. Same coach but is a 2nd with 11 main windows (drop lights) where as this one only has 10 drop lights.

Research so far has found that the above coach 'ABomz' is ABomz 512 : former Am 201 and ABom 222 refurbished by DB Regio. Originally an 'Am' 201 : 130 units built between 1982 and 84, Görlitz V bogies.

Cheers all, Anthony
