I had noticed those @ Harburn Hobbies but not the new reference numbers!
The only livery changes appear to be the new running numbers …
Any idea what running number NR-P151B (LGW) might have had?
No rerun of their other previous issue, "Wemyss" in grey, which became a catalogue item as a brown version.
Thanks, MW

Neither NR-P151 & NR-P152 had other numbers in this run, only C & B respectively. NR-P150A is the same as the original (plastic box on card backing) version, but in the new style boxes.

Two more now!
Just got tipped off about these from Pennine Wagons:

NR-P990  7-plank open  maroon with black ironwork & white lettering
British Insulated & Helsby Cables Ltd, Prescot  Lancashire

NR-P991  5-plank open  yellow with black corner-posts & black lettering
  Poynton Collieries, Lord Vernon

Should be available some time in the next couple of weeks, all being well.

Thanks, Neil!
However, all of CMC's Limited edition PECO wagons have been around since last year; the departmental vans since the spring (initially in the old-style packaging) and the private owner wagons since the summer. Some of them may be second batches now, though the PECO reference numbers have not changed, indicating probably the same running numbers. The only new edition seems to be the china clay 7-plank which now has a different running number, indicated by the "B" suffix on the PECO reference. If you look in the general PECO wagon section there is another wagon which was commissioned by CMC: NR-P909 VEA (insulated van) in Railfreight Distribution Livery for the MoD.
Rumour has it CMC have more in the pipeline, so we'll have to wait and see.
You never know, someone might leak!

 :laughabovepost: ouch !

CMC are typical of many retailers - they dont exactly go out of their way to over-sell their wares !
@madchadbrad (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=2953) has been much more informative than cmc. All I need to know* now is who Baldwin, Bellamy, Bendall et. al. were and how widely they shipped when !( I am pretty certain that a Cheltenham Electric wagon would not have appeared in the NW of England, mind you with BR in the 50/60s anything could have happened ! :) they lost the new Carlisle Station glass shipment for several months, only for it to turn up in a siding at , , yep Carlisle Citadel :(  )

* and so on across many retailers, they could save me a lot of googling :(

This just popped up on ebay.
The seller has no idea as to its origin (being a OO collector)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/N-GAUGE-LLANGOTHLEN-EXCLUSIVE/273641912206?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/N-GAUGE-LLANGOTHLEN-EXCLUSIVE/273641912206?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649)
I am guessing it was commissioned to commemorate something in 2017 for the Llangollen Railway .... 50 years of preservation?
Have any of you guys met this one before?
Else I could contact Dapol directly ...

I am unlikely to be able to get to Llangollen Station myself from where I live at the moment (France, near Geneva).
I will investigate their website ....

It appears these commemorative GPVs are available at £13.50 plus p&p from the shop on Llangollen Station .... commissioned by the Llangollen Railway from Dapol in 2017.
They can be contacted via their website.

I have just spoken to a very nice lady called Nicky at Llangollen Station and ordered a couple of these wagons. Apparently there has been some interest in the wagons over the last few days - I wonder why  ???, however, there are quite a few left, so if anybody wants one ..........

Excerpt from email sent to me by Nicky -
"We can certainly supply you with two wagons. The cost per wagon is £13.50 and P&P within the UK is 1st Class £4.00 and 2nd Class £3.25. For postage to Ireland the cost is £5.00. The wagons were not produced as a commemorative item for a particular event.

If you wish to make a purchase please telephone me Monday to Friday on 01978 860979 with a debit/credit card payment (closed for lunch 1pm - 1:30pm)."

Farish releases for 2019/20 include 14 or so private owner wagons, including some containers for Pickfords and Mc Fisheries. Only 3 last year and sti due.

Yeah, previously announced private owner wagons have still not appeared, so I won’t hold my breath for these new announcements!
Especially as they are getting close to £20 a pop these days, I would be happier if they didn’t all get released at once!
Meanwhile PECO are running out of numbering slots in their NR-P900 series of commissioned wagons .... I wonder what they will do next!
Also it is about time Dapol put a little more effort into N-gauge .... lets have a new early era wagon profile .... scaled down from the OO range?

Yes, shame the Llangollen Railway GPV fetched a premium price on ebay … they could have had one from the source for under that price INCLUDING P&P!
However, I'm glad it cropped up as it unearthed an otherwise unknown (to me) Ltd Ed.

This just through from Derails Models

“We've now received the stock of the next in our line-up of exclusive N gauge Forest-Of-We've now received the stock of the next in our line-up of exclusive N gauge Forest-Of-Dean themed wagons - the Eastern United and Parkend 7 Plank Coal wagons.
The Eastern United Colliery near Cinderford was one of the Henry Crawshaw Collieries. Work began in 1909 and it was one of the last Forest Collieries, operating right through to 1960. Wagon 354 was delivered by Gloucester Carraige and Wagon works in 1914 and was part of a batch of 20 wagons, delivered from new in the livery depicted in our model.

The Parkend Colliery was opened in early 1800's and was one of the deep navigation collieries in the Forest of Dean. It closed in 1929, at which point New Fancy Colliery took over bringing coal from the Parkend area to the surface. Wagon no. 380 was one of the last wagons built for the colliery in 1899.

One thing I would like to point out when ordering from 'AGR' - pay in £St if not in the UK, or, preferably, request an invoice! I placed an order the other day and, as my Debit Card is in Euros, I used the Euro option on the website. There had been a few emails between Anthony at 'AGR' and myself before I placed the order and he comes across as a nice helpful bloke, but shortly after placing the order, I received an email stating that the order was cancelled, as I had not paid enough!  :confused1:. I am not blaming 'AGR' as such, I think it comes down to how 'PayPal' collect and forward the money - once they had my Euros, I am guessing that they took their cut, converted the remainder to £St and forwarded the remainder to 'AGR' - obviously not enough. I have now paid in £St and used a UK address. One thing to beware of.  :hmmm:

I see that www.wagonyard.co.uk (http://www.wagonyard.co.uk) has received their latest commissions from Dapol and Peco. One, Bonner and Mason Toogood is unusual as has 2 owners, The latter a cigarette manufacturer of Guildford. Some complex lettering too. The Peco  one for James Smart of Chalford is quite colourful. Further wagons are planned. Dapol ones are in N and OO. Details of prototypes are in Turton's books -7/8/12 and Ian Pope's Voume2.

Hi Folks,

Visited the Swange Railway last week and came across the PECO van below (excuse the quality of the image):

The model number is NR-P1007.  Be warned though, it is rather expensive at £14.95.  I could not see these for sale on the Swanage Railway website but they had plenty in the Swanage station shop.

Hope this helps.

Mark at www.thewagonyard.co.uk (http://www.thewagonyard.co.uk) has sent me a couple of emails regarding previously owned Limited Edition wagons. They are listed on the website.

Incidentally, I have just received two, (I know - greedy  ;)), of the 'Hailsham Water Works' wagons which are a 'wagonyard' Dapol limited edition and very nice looking they are too, having a white body and grey roof.

@Paddy (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=356)

Morning Paddy, two pictures of the wagon. I have not corrected the photographs, so the lighting has affected the colour of the van, it is white with a grey roof -

this second one is a close up, which I have cropped to show some of the printing -

The printing, certainly at normal viewing distances, is quite crisp and is typical of a Dapol print. Even though the printing is distorted a bit as it goes over the wagon 'rib', it still looks fine to me and I am pleased with the wagons.

Post by: Paddy on July 23, 2019, 05:13:25 PM
Thanks David.  The printing on the wagon seems like an exact copy of the logo on an earthenware bottle from the company.  Can’t decide if it laziness or very clever from Dapol. 😀

They were part of a set produced for B&W clients which included these three wagons, a BR 2-6-0 tender loco, an oval of track with a rerailer and a mains transformer/controller. Now very rare as packaging wasn’t too solid and many of the sets were broken up and items sold individually. The wagons have turned up individually on ebay from time to time over the years  ..... at the end of my Flickr album there should be a short video clip of the set.

Some months ago, I bought four Graham Farish No. 2211 Stephenson Clarke Mineral Wagons. Later, I was the successful eBay bidder for another lot of these wagons but have just discovered that instead of the Stephens Clarke wagons I received nine wagons by Graham Farish #377-075V 7 Plank Fixed End Wagon, Warwick Gas Light Co "produced exclusively for Castle Trains". My layout is GWF simulating the junction at Westbury, Wilts, and I thought the SC wagons would work perfectly in a rake between the southern coast and the midlands. Be that as it may, I'm not unhappy with the Warwick wagons, as I bought them for a very good price. I'm uncertain, however, if a rake of these wagons would be appropriate on one of my lines - London - Weymouth, Bristol - Portsmouth, and Chippenham - Salisbury. Comments would be appreciated.

Leon, I think that for your period those Warwick Gas Light wagons would be fine.
I’ve no idea if the company was still in operation in your timescale but let’s pretend that they are and have just won a contract to supply new gas lamps to a southern town (eg Weymouth).
A train of materials may well travel south to Bristol then via Bath, Trowbridge and Westbury towards Weymouth.
You might want to make tarpaulins to cover the wagons though so they don’t look empty.

Just an idea.

Martin, that's an excellent idea and totally satisfactory for my purposes. They'll be returning empty, though, so I'll just need to weather the interior walls and bottoms of the wagons. Please don't make me construct tarps!!!   :D I AM getting on with construction, though. I'm in the middle of building Wiltsbury Station (Metcalf kit). I'm even going to try and modify the kit to better fit my space. This is almost fun!  :)

Jolly good!
Can you just check those last two CMC wagons aren’t different NR-P numbers!
Managed to get Malc’s latest (2 different running numbers!) and Thewagonyard’s already by post before the show. Will check out CMC’s website. Was expecting some private owner wagons too!
Was there nothing from Gaugemaster (rumoured Dapol private owner 7-planks)?
Glad it was a fruitful show anyway!
Have you already got Philip Ford’s latest George Giles in grey? (Hailsham Club)
A busy year!

I didn't spot the other one on Malc's stall. It was a bit busy! I'm guessing that the other is the "b" version.

Nothing from Gaugemaster. I'm not sure if the chap I spoke to was joking but he suggested "next year"!

The Wagon Yard website has the two new tanker wagons announced but not listed (nor pictured) as yet. I guess they'll get around to it once they have recovered from TINGS!

The CMC website is stuck pre-TINGS. Awaiting their announced new website …. so no mention of the new PECO wagons there either …

Malcs Models don't mention the Gedling wagons on either their website or their Facebook page … yet!

Derails also claim to have a new website up and running … but there is no trace of their Ltd Ed wagon releases at all, neither past, current nor future!

At least PECO's website has pictures of both "Lunt" and of the three other announced wagons which are due over the next few months ...

Derails ltd editions are back up on their website but no new liveries yet.
Millennium Models have commissioned a PECO 7-plank wagon in “Leeds Industrial Cooperative Society Limited” red livery in aid of Morley MRC in time for their show on Saturday 12th October 2019.
Swansea RMC are not going to produce a second run of this year’s Dapol 7-plank “FE Poole” with a different running number as there is not sufficient demand.
?Only 16 N-gauge versions remained unsold and all other scales are sold out?
Oh well, we’ll have to wait until next summer to see what is decided for their 2020 offering.
Warley club were not intending to produce an N-gauge wagon for this year’s show but are in discussions with thewagonyard for a possible link-up?
Expecting another running number variant of the red “George Giles” on behalf of the Hailsham MRC probably in December.
Cheltenham Model Centre’s website is still not updated but their latest triplet of wagons is available by other means ... a 12T parcels van and a couple of different china clay 5-planks.
That’s all for now

Does the latest Bachmann Collectors' Club N-gauge offering  count as "private owner"?
It's an ex-BR Longmoor Military Railway guards van ….
Club members only ... but £24.99 (plus p&p)!!!

The Wagon Yard is advising that they are now stocking Gaugemaster Limited Edition wagons.

                                          ALSO

They reckon their new limited edition grain wagon will be with them early next week!  :claphappy:

Spalding MRC?  Details please!
How to acquire them? P.m.?
Also strange I haven’t spotted those Spanish tank wagons yet! I’m supposed to be on their mailing list.

Thanks Mike!

In theory, thewagonyard.co.uk can now channel the Commercial Brit-Line Spanish Peco wagons .... which may make my life a little simpler

RE: Bach-Far’s LMR brake van, I guess they may still have a few left next summer when they sell off leftover “8-Ton” 5-plank club wagons ... then I can at least save on postage ....

And from the invoice I received today from Gaugemaster it sounds like their next two have arrived as well:

Dapol/Gaugemaster GM2410109    7 plank wagon “Jury Brick Co” 5
Dapol/Gaugemaster GM2410110    7 plank wagon “Jury Brick Co” (W) 5
Dapol/Gaugemaster GM2410113    7 plank wagon “Corrall” 166
Dapol/Gaugemaster GM2410114    7 plank wagon “Corrall” (W) 166

I think that the only one outstanding is the first that they advertised "South & Gasson".

Aaaaargh!
That’s me broke for Christmas!
Again.

Maybe things will be quiet in the new year for a bit!

Just had another email from Mark at The Wagon Yard. Apparently there should have been 90 'pristine' models, but Dapol have sent 79 'pristine' and 11 'weathered' - still a limited edition of 90 though.
