I have one of these, not sure if it's from the 80's or 90's as it is not in it's original box. :confused2:
Is there a reference archive for the Farish produced engines prior to the Bachmann take-over :confused2:

It has running number D8144 and is in BR Green

As it's been stored in my loft for over 15 years cannot comment and vote until it's been cleaned and lubed

Do love these but have only given them a "good". Tricky getting the body off, yellow panel at the front often has it's clip snap off, and susceptible to split gears.

I have 3: BR Green, BR Blue and a made up one with a Poole chassis and Bachmann (Poole mould) DRS body. Nice runners.

BR Green one needs top gear (25 tooth) replacing with plastic as currently has all brass gears. It's a growler because of it!

Mick, try this link for your diesels. It's a fantastic resource, but only covers diesels.

A bit of a growler and the body resonates something awful ::)

No worries Mick

I use it purely as a reference for the Poole built Farish stock and as such it doesn't matter to me whether they update it :D

Those who like collecting Bachmann on the other hand ....

It would be nice if the steamers were on there, not quite sure why it's just diesels. That said, well done to the person who compiled it.

I have a Monty's Graham a Farish booklet but it's not here with me and I haven't looked at it yet. Will report back when I've reviewed it.

Sorry Mick, that point went right over my head in my last post. I must have been sleeping the whole day if 122nd! Sure I was away with the fairies somewhere!

Yes I too have the early Farish Class 20's three in green and one blue, I think one has brass gears, along with the 33's  they are my two favorites from the pre Bachmann era.

Ran mine again today and am not sure why it's so noisy as it has nylon gears. Mayhap I'll experiment with trying to 'pack' the body :hmmm:

I'll give mine a run tomorrow Mick and report back re noise issues if I encounter any. Wondering if in your case the metal body isn't helping (then again, any vibration on the plastic bodies of the other diesels is probably worse ). The bodies are a tight fit so usually no room to shake, rattle n roll, although possibly transmit vibration (if that's the correct term).

My fleet now consists of a BR Green, one or two BR Blue (I can't recall), a DRS (made up with a Poole chassis) and a recently acquired Poole Railfreight Grey. I love them - the smaller Farish diesels have great pulling power.

I think I read somewhere that a Farish decided to stick with the metal body for these, since they needed / performed better with the added weight.
