Hi all
Ive not been a NGS member for long, but was wondering if I can buy directy from them at Warley? Specifically looking for some autoballasters and an inspection saloon.
Also, Ive lost my membership card but I know my number, will that be a problem?
Thanks
Hi
I don't know if there will be a full NGS shop at Warley but suggest you email them and check. You can also request a new membership card. Fellow member may be able to advise better than I.
The team are all volunteers so it may take 24 hours before you get a reply but they are always most helpful.

Don't think they do a full shop, but they will likely have all popular items.
If you know what you want, email them & order it for collection - they're nice like that :)
i bought a brake van off them at a show just by quoting my membership number. i think they can look you up in their records there and then.
cheers

thanks everyone! I will send them a mail in he next few days as theres a few obscure things I would like
Not sure if number only would work at the show though its fine obviously for mail order.
I'd suggest getting a replacement card anyway just in case.
A quick email to the shop via the contacts page on the website would solve any issues with your membership card just in case a replacement doesn't turn up in time.
Usually the stand at shows like Warley has all the NGS kits, r-t-r and other society stuff but not the other shop stuff,
as it would be too much to take with them.
To buy N Gauge Society items from the stand all you need is your membership number, in order to conform to VAT rules. Non Society items cannot be purchased from the stand because of VAT rules (unless you want to pay VAT!). The stand always has a list of current members available for those members who have lost their cards and cannot remember their number. I will be at Warley in close vicinity of the stand both days and look forward to saying hello.
I remember one year buying a Stove R from the NGS stall at Warley, and I couldn't find my membership card in amongst all the 'points' cards I had ended up with in my wallet - eventually found it at the same time the lady on the stall found my details on the list! At least she was OK about it! :-[
But yes, my suggestion would be to contact them first if you are after something specific. That way they can put some extra aside for you, and you stand no chance of turning up to buy things, only to be told that they have sold out! (As has happened to me too!)
