Title: Looking for a Unimog U400
Post by: alibuchan on November 12, 2012, 03:09:17 PM
Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a place selling a model of the Unimog U400.

I have had a look through all of the usual manufacturers but I have not had much luck.

I'm after one for a project I would like to have a go at.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

Thanks in advance

Alistair

you mean the beastie that I posted to that thread at the top?  :D

I've got two of the PG Models ones added  to my "Yellow Things" fleet, one's been moded to have a Hiab arm on the back.
Not sure if I'll bother with trying to model the road/railer gear, pewter models and live model railways dont mix well for some reason! :P

how did you guess that was where i was going with it  :o

thats what I was looking at having a bash at.

The only other one I can find is a U1300 which is a bit longer but that may help with the motor.

if your that insane in getting the drive in the unimog, why not just fit the drive in the wagon rather than the unimog and have the two permanently fixed together?

yeah I am that insane and I think I have a way to do it.

I was hoping for a way to do it whilst not having a wagon permanently attached.
