Hi All, 

A great history of our rail  network  with  maps covering the country colour coded for eras  when the railways appeared.

Useful site, thanks for the link.

However there are one or two omissions. According to the info on there, none of the railways in SW Scotland were ever built  :-\  I wonder how people got from Dumfries to Stranraer for the boat to Ireland  ;D
