Title: Clerestory roofs.
Post by: John Tremelling on September 20, 2012, 03:42:21 PM
I seem to recall seeing or reading about a conversion kit to fit clerestory roofs to old style coaching stock. Not totally correct I know, but it would fill a gap in my layout if I could do something like that, pending getting around to doing it properly.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Think your refering to the Ultima ones. You can get em from Etched pixels.

See the advert on here.

Hi

There is an article of mine in Journal 2/10 on Great Western Clerestory Coaches which may be useful. I used the old Graham Farish suburban coaches and fabricated a new roof with 40 thou plasticard plus a 4 x 2 mm plastic channel on top to give the clerestory shape. Thin strips of sticky tape were painted and stuck to the sides to ease painting.

If you have any questions drop me a line.

OOPS!

Just spotted a typo, I should have said 8 x 2mm for the clerestory section to add to the roof.

Appologies
