Title: B12 Loco
Post by: daveg on August 22, 2012, 07:19:55 AM
I've added a Union Mills B12 (LMS) to my far too long wish list but hope to order one before my birthday in October.

Looking at numerous photos I can't clearly see which coaches should be used. Please will someone advise or recommend those that would make up the train.

:thankyousign:

A B12 is an LNER (ex GER) loco not LMS  :confused2:

Can you confirm what type and livery it actually is.

[If it really is an LMS liveried B12, you'll need to buy Dapol Teak Gresleys and repaint them in LMS livery to match   :hmmm:]

You're absolutely correct - my error  :dunce:.

UM show it available in BR black or LNER green. It would be the LNER I would go for. Advice on coaches still appreciated.

reckon the coaches suggested previously would work. no painting needed

Agreed - if you are getting one in LNER green then the Dapol teak Gresley coaches will look spot on behind her!

I have one in LNER black and run teaks, both Dapol and Minitrix, and they look good - and, what's more, being Union Mills, she pulls a good rake; I have had 10 running behind my B12 on the Swindon clubs layout and she was going up the slopes without any problems!

Teak Dapol Gresleys are right for the LNER green liveried versions. In BR black you will need either carmine and cream or maroon gresleys depending on the period. You could also use Farish Mk1 coaches in the same liveries for the BR versions.
