Title: Perseid Meteor Shower
Post by: Dock Shunter on August 12, 2012, 06:25:23 PM
Should be visible in most parts of the country tonight (cloud permitting)
Around 11pm should be the optimum time to see.
Parts of Wiltshire...(Stonehenge) and the Peak District among the best places to be..... 8)

I have just been told by the local BBC weatherman - "You will be lucky to see any of the meteor shower tonight".  :'(

Which is a shame as I have seen them a few times over the years and it is excellent to see  :heart2:

You mean that meteor shower being clouded out too ?  Quite likely  :-X

Or if you mean the utter :poop: spouted about the Mesoamerican Long Count  calendar ...  :hmmm:  >:D I think there's a slight problem in that this calendar has something booked for a few days after "the end of the world"  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

After all - it's merely the end of the 13th b'ak'tun.  I don't recall reading that the world ends after each b'ak'tun, and there's nothing special about this one  :P

Don't tell me - the end of the world is meant to happen 21st December but they've booked a New Year's Party

:smiley-laughing: The world was supposed to end in 2003 but something went wrong, they decided 2012 would be the end  :smiley-laughing:

I think freaky people make stories up like that to make money and draw attention to themselves, some have even made full length documentaries about 2012, don't worry me either way  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

Well, I can make no promises about the stuff NPN wants, but I you'll have no problems, ORB  :smiley-laughing: Even if it takes until next year  :P  After all, that calendar has an eveny on the 21 October in the year 4772 - that give you enough time ?  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:
