:-[ A couple of comment from me
D.S. is afraid his posts might have offended me....... Sorry I took them as an excuse to banter a little and apologize to D.S and any others who took offense at my replies.
I would like to thank the 'Powers that Be' for the birthday greeting PM they sent me
and the Mod. who took time to PM me with greetings and ask if I had received any railway related gifts.
Well now I have ...a book on Victorian railways   and vaguely related book about military defenses in Hampshire from Roman times till the modern day (there are a few rail related pictures in it
I believe that one of them listed but not named MIGHT be Fort Pengy

Take no notice Jon, they are only jealous. They can't remember a time when petrol was 1s 3d a gallon and a pint was 9p like we can.

You have nothing to apologise for John.......
You certainly didn't cause any offence.......
Initially i thought my posts might have been seen as "in bad taste" by other forum members in light of what John is going through at the moment and due to the fact that there had been no other birthday wishing posts following mine.
The Old Timer Jibe was just a play on words......JonCLOX-CLOCKS-TIME....
I understood Johns banter and thanked him for it in the post but felt i should make an apology (which i did by pm) just in case i had caused any upset.
I think it is the problem of comunicating with words only and not being able to judge by tone of voice and facial expressions what people are meaning that causes these cross lines.
Anyway probably best if i just shut me gob and let everybody get back to railway modelling..............See ya later fella's (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-sad030.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
