Title: Olympic Blue Tongues and an Interesting Parallel!
Post by: Claude Dreyfus on August 10, 2012, 12:43:07 PM
I have just seen this article on the BBC website about 'Olympic Oddities'...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19180559 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19180559)

The blue tongues have been put down to some nasty fizzy drink...but those of us who know and love Asterix the Gaul will see a rather amusing parallel between this and the adventure 'Asterix and the Olympic games'!

For those of you not lucky enough to be fully aware of Asterix, or the story, a precis is attached...

I have that very story in an omnibus in my cupboard...methinks its time to get reaquainted!

Seems to me the Asterix Olympics are considerably more interesting than the real thing...
