Title: Ratio 3 arch viaduct height
Post by: zwilnik on July 28, 2012, 12:37:03 PM
Does anyone happen to know the track bed height of Ratio's 3 arch viaduct kit? I'm going to be using one on my new layout but need to work out heights etc

Answered my own question when I did a different web search and got Ratio's "home" page on the Peco site.

http://www.peco-uk.com/product.asp?strParents=3340,3341&CAT_ID=3343&P_ID=17760 (http://www.peco-uk.com/product.asp?strParents=3340,3341&CAT_ID=3343&P_ID=17760)

Appears the overall height is 130mm so guessing the track bed's not much below that, so I'll probably kit bash a bit and chop a bit off the base of the piers to get a height more suitable for my layout.

A cheaper and more adaptable option is the scalescenes viaduct, I think the extended piers may be extra but may be worth a try. I have built about 5 metres worth them and like the effect.

Those are pretty cool. I prefer plastic kits for the 'feature' elements of my layouts but the scalescenes viaducts look ideal to give me a set of railway arches where the line's descending at the back of the layout.
