Title: Alternating bodies
Post by: Newportnobby on November 05, 2026, 02:25:36 PM
No, my surname is neither Burke or Hare
I model transition era in the main so do have green diseasels, but I also like some items of motive power and rolling stock in BR Blue.
Attempts to find a Farish blue Sulzer Type 2 (class 25 when blue) proved fruitless, so I checked the Bachmann Spares website and, sure enough, they had a weathered blue body which was exactly what I wanted. Armed with the information from our Forumites that the bodies were easily switched, I ordered one. Full points to the Spares dept - I ordered it 2nd Nov and it arrived today (5th) without the usual 25 e mails about how it's left, where it's gone, the RM has my parcel, the inside leg measurement of the postie etc etc. So, my weathered green Type 2 can be alternated with the weathered blue body, and all for £40 of our English pounds :D
(The Spares dept also have pristine and weathered green bodies should you wish to do the same)
