Up there with cram ovett bannister
I can just about remember Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minutes - I have a memory of my Dad telling me, but I don't think it meant much to me at the time. Kerr did it a whole quarter of a minute faster. But then, he's a professional athlete; Bannister was a university student and didn't have access to today's high-tech shoes, running surfaces, training and diets. Both great achievements, nearly ¾ of a century apart.
