Title: Farish NEM clip-in NEM coupling socket
Post by: KevTheBusDriver on February 22, 2026, 07:58:34 PM
Hi all - I acquired (another) Farish China Class 25 recently - but one end had been fitted with dummy coupling, MU jumper cable, steam & brake hoses - the previous owner had also removed the NEM pocket, so I had to source one in order to retro-fit a coupler.
The Bachmann Spares site does not list this tiny item as a spare, but it seems to be available as part of a complete bogie frame, which seems a bit of an overkill to me.
After looking around I found a pair of unused Gloucester Wagon Bogies (which come fitted with NEM couplers). The NEM pocket on these are clipped to the Gloucester bogie and looked like the one at the other end of the 25, so I pinched one - and it did the job. So where do I get another to 're-instate' my wagon bogies?

Happy N-gauging!
Kev E.

ps - the 25 runs lovely and no longer has red tail lights!

If you mean the little bit that goes into a main socket and receives the coupling whilst also providing side play, they do - but it's not listed under all models that use it - an annoying habit of theirs with parts common to more than one model.
