Title: The modelling vicar (from 1967)
Post by: port perran on November 03, 2025, 11:48:07 AM
I'm not sure if this little video has been shared before. If it has apologies but I came across it this morning whilst waiting for paint to dry.

The Rev Teddy Boston was, I believe, a friend of the great Ivo Peters and is one of a long line of railway loving vicars.

Yeah it popped up on my Facebook feed this morning as well, as cool as it is to see this sort of stuff and related videos, garden trolleybuses, 60's trams etc, some of the commentary content is shocking though :o

Also a friend of Rev Wilbert Awdry and immortalised in the Railway Series books as "The Fat Clergyman".

On a purely personal note, my parents were married in East Dereham by Billy Boston, brother of the more famous Teddy.  Don't think it's had any effect on me, though, as I have absolutely no interest in the GWR.....

To me the religious hero of this hobby will forever be the Rev. Peter Denny.

Oh, and I thought the commentary in the video was rather good  :D
