Title: Hornby HST v Police 37 and the original 1980s HST advert
Post by: Bob G on October 30, 2025, 10:46:44 AM
On the day that Hornby Railroad announce the re-run of the Police Class 37, TMC also give a link to the original advert (apparently dating from 1984. It's certainly not in HD).

What is quite amazing is what happens 30 seconds into the advert... you don't get one of those in N gauge (or even in OO).

From TMC's email:

Hornby Railroad
Loved the advert? Re-live the nostalgia with your very own Class 37 vs. HST chase in your model collection through this new sound-fitted Class 37 model release. And yes, two-tone horns are included, too! Watch the video, below...

Ah yes that 37 with its 'washable' paint. Not 100% how long it ran around in that livery, (think it was somewhere between a month to 6 months??) but I do know that it ended up at Stratford DRS for a repaint to blue as it did set some panic off when it didn't wash off! (From what I hear)
