Title: Royal Train Loco Insignia CIIIR
Post by: GlenEglise on July 20, 2025, 09:49:15 PM

The current Royal Train recently renewed the franchise with DB for traction etc.

Both Class 67 locomotives will be given new insignia in relation to King Charles III. In addition Queen's Messenger has been renamed King's Messenger.

Is anyone aware of a source of new etches/Decals for application to the Dapol Class 67 locos?

I have tried searching buut got nowhere, tried Railtec and Dapol also but no luck.

I am in  touch with Shawplan but drawings are required.

I have contacted DB UK but have had no response regarding obtaining drawings.

Brian at Shawplan is appreciative of the photos I have sent but will take some time to get involved. His interest is much appreciated.

If anyone has the ability to provide drawings or any positive assistance it would be appreciated.

That news has since been overtaken, by the retirmenet of the Royal Train;a bit of a theoretical question now but I appreciate modellers have different ideas!

But the "E II R" cypher on the existing train matches other cyphers on stamps etc

The "Rex Charles III cypher" will follow the same format; it just doesn't appear it will be on the train!. Happy to be corrected but for a simple indication of royal link it will follow the same format so this should be correct

DB indicated that the insignia will be applied to both locomotives. It has already been applied to King's Messenger (was Queen's Messenger")

Thak you for your input.

As this will be the last Royal Train I guess it should become a Collector's Item in future.

The Royal Train will remain until 2027, so there is plenty of time yet.
