Hi, I'm looking for info on where to find track plans and maps ??? , in particular I want to start a new project centered around Swaffham, Norfolk, any guidance would be most welcome.
Period of interest is late 40's to early 60's, I have what I think is a 1948 OS map and a 'track layout diagram' c1960 but looking for something a bit more detailed or larger scale.
Thanks,
Roy
Hello Roy
What a nice location!
Is this OS map (from the National Library of Scotland) the one you have?

There are some larger scale OS plans available. Another source is the local authority rating plans.
There are some large-scale railway plans in existence - you might be lucky. The Public Records Office at Kew is the source for these in England.
However, I think your best bet, at least initially, would be the Great Eastern Railway Society.
With all best wishes.
John
Lots of info and pics about Swaffham here, Roy, including a pic of one of those :oopssign: moments

Some diagrams are included
All great suggestions which I'll research.
Thank you all very much for your help.

You'll find scale tracks, streets & buildings on this map in 1926.. (apologies for the massive link, but it should work)
