So the time has come when SWMBO has decided to go down he bookstore like a brain hungry zombie and buy 50 shades of grey (smut) has anyone else lost the mrs to these books and managed to get some undisturbed modelling time in because that's what I'm hoping it will amount to at least for this weekend,,,, all around me it's all I've been hearing about on Facebook and in hospital waiting rooms,, (I'm the only dad at a group for disabled children surrounded by housewives)
Ah that book about the admiralties paint stores.
You do realise that your either in trouble or in luck when you good lady starts to want to go yo b&q and lingers in rope, chain and padlocks section.
Its not a particulary good book, written by a particulary the sexual equivalent of a diesel nut writing about steam, the mechanics and main principals are the but not the nuances that would make it better.

only the backcover and the reviews. Got a couple of friends who enjoy the "bdsm lifestyle" as they call it and they tell me its very formulaic and mechanical. Like a bad how to book merged with a mills and boon. It was originally a piece of twilight fan fiction but it had to be altered for general publication because the characters were copyrighted.
Funny you should mention Humbrol they posted this picture on their Facebook page yesterday ;)

I bought Della the trilogy, kept her quiet for a couple of weeks ;D my daughter (26) and all her colleagues at work have read all 3 too, and all of them say it is actually a good story, it is not just "mommy porn" the darker side of the books are just a small part of it. I read the first half a dozen pages and didn't find anything naughty, so I didn't bother with the rest ;D
I hear about it all of the time on Facebook, and from colleagues. ::) It's ridiculous how people just jump on the bandwagon over something that's not even that good! The young teachers at work are always giggling about it and making silly references about the book in conversation and then giggling. A few naughty words, good publicity/advertising and it sells like mad! My wife reads Ann Rice books, and they're much better, and far more explicit. Too much for these hermits I think though!!! ;D I'll put my claws away... :smiley-laughing:

You like to get these things done quickly then!! :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:
My wife is more worried about covering the 50 shades of grey in her hair than she is learning new naughty things
Over here it is all on the radio, girlfriends wife's etc reading the book then dumbing the old bloke for something that walked past. Now there some serious girl free model time, mines up to the second book but I still can't get to the shed to play trains
I was listening to the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2 the other week with Vanessa Feltz standing in for him. One subject she discussed was this book. A bloke e mailed in that his wife was reading and although he appreciated her wifely abilities prior to reading the book,he said she'd become invigorated since. I suspect he wasn't complaining either.

May I, at this point, take the opportunity to remind members that this is a family forum, there may be youngsters reading, which will only lead to embarrassing questions to their parents. So it would be appreciated if members would be moderate in their posts and think how you might answer that question when your child/grandchild asks you, and also your reaction when they said they read it on a model railway forum ::)
Thank you all ;)
I did wonder where my post went. I figured I censored it enough but not enough to ensure no embarrassing questions. Sorry amigo!
Also apologies to any dutch members who read my post.
Better to watch ebay for something useful (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-computer002.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:
What's a "BDSM Lifestyle"...? I have a BRNSE lifestyle, if that's similar?
Time to start working on my magnum opus, "Fifty Shades of Railfreight Grey" :)
I hope I don't get too severely punished for this post...or perhaps I do
:smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:
Fay (my woman) has got her hands on this book now
I will let you know how I get on with 'her new found outlook on certain issues' :-\
I'll listen out for the screams! ;D
The amount of money being made out of this book it should be called 50 shades of Green.
Fay said a film is being made at present to be released early next year. :-X

Doh!
We all fell for it!
As much as we allude to not liking this book, we are all talking about it (and I haven't read it and never will)
How's about none of us ever mention it again and we deny it's existence and therefore it isnt really happening so that when our good ladies speak we treat it like we treat 00 gauge on the forum: we know its there, other people like it, but we don't talk or refer to it anyway, good or bad? :-X :-X
What say you fellow 50 shades of grey deny-ers? 8) :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

Ask 100 people involved in ''The BDSM Lifestyle'' and you will get 95+ different opinions.
(I`m told :-[ )
