Hi
I have been unable to use the forum on my regular devices in the last week. I have tried 3 different browsers and 2 different operating systems but am getting an access denied message. This message has been submitted using an android device and old browser version. I have tried clearing the history and it made no difference. Has anyone else had the same problem?
Chris
I run up-to-date versions of Edge and Chrome on my windows machines and no problems at all. I've also had no problems with chrome on my Android tablet.
You probably need to clear cookies - not just history.
Literally just started using Win11 with Firefox, no problems here.

Ah yes, but the problem I had was, it broke.
After seven years, the keyboard on my laptop has had it.
Maybe a silly question (like 'did you connect the power?'): Did you log in on your new system?
When not logged in only a part of the forum can be accessed.
Mine did break last year, just reinstalled Win 7 - sorted
Just cleared history and cookies again. Still get You don't have permission to access this resource.
Can't even get to a login screen.
Google Chrome on Chromebook. So frustrating.
Are you using a saved link which goes directly into the forum pages, instead of trying from the root of the site ngaugeforum.co.uk ? That's caused people problems in the last if they've become logged out.
Sounds like a security issue Chris, is it your home network?

Another thought, not sure about Chrome but there should be something like a padlock icon on the left of the address bar, try clicking on it for information about the permissions for the site.
Not sure if it's a related problem but a couple of days ago I received a notification on my Android phone to say that there had been a post in one of the threads I was following. When I clicked on the link it said you don't have permission to access this resource ??? .
I was able to to follow the link on my Windows PC without any problem.
I haven't received any notifications since so I'm not sure if the problem still exists on my phone.

This android device is on the same network so I don't think it is a home router security issue. I checked the permissions and they seem ok. I've tried typing in the address manually. I'll try a windows device later and see if edge has the same problem. I've already tried Chrome, Firefox and Conqueror on a Linux device and chrome on the Chromebook.
Baffling.

are you using the http: address or the https: address? I remember http giving a similar error message a year or so ago when having to manually enter it for some reason.
The other possibility is your ISP blacklisting the site for some random reason. I assume you've tried connecting via mobile data as well as 'landline' broadband?
You could perhaps try the Brave browser, it works well for me.
I've managed to solve the problem. I entered https://ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php and it connects. It seems that a redirect from ngaugeforum.co.uk is not working.
Thanks for your support and advice.
Chris
So sorry for the late reply, I've had a lot going on at home.
I'm glad that you've managed to get back onto the forum. Typing www.NGaugeForum.co.uk should bring you straight into the forum, where you can log in, and the https should automatically be there.
