Last Friday, my wife gave birth to our delightful new "N-gauge" daughter (actually - at 10lbs 7oz, she's nearer OO scale!!!).
After a fairly scary week in NICU, she's been given a clean bill of health, and we've just got back home.

Freshly dragged into the bright lights. Unfortunately, it was evident pretty quickly that she was struggling to breathe.

7 hours later, she's wired up to all the machines, full ventilator, knock-out-drops the lot. Very scary couple of days followed...

Day 4: She's still ventilated, but has made excellent progress. Knock-out drops withdrawn. Baby very angry about this...

Day 5: No longer ventilated (the nose tubes are an air blast which made her sneeze) Mum can finally hold her. Baby still pretty cross, all things considered. Attempts to escape incubator through stern hatch (foiled: We spotted her)

Day 8: Successfully escaped incubator, but still attached to some monitors. Nasal air blast will be removed later.

Day 9: All tubes & wires gone! Seen here plotting her escape...

Day 10: Going home. Baby very smug. Now keeping the wife awake all night because she will insist on breast feeding :)
I'm hiding here in the "office", where I'll probably sleep :D
Now I need to teach her to love model railways like her big brother..... (any excuse for Dad to play trains :D )
Huge congrats to you both on the arrival of (insert name here ;) ) :claphappy: :beers:
Congratulations
Thanks :)
I see I forgot to include her name! It's Jessica :) No middle name yet. Maybe "Class 20"? :D
Congratulations!

Actually, she's named after the tune! Like all good earworms, it went in and stuck...
Congratulations
Congratulations from me
Hope mum and daughter doing well
