Title: New Dapol Q1

Has anyone bought and run one of the new Dapol Q1's yet ?? understand they now have tender drive.

Hi Buxton

No, I don't have one but to clarify, the original batch (Like all Dapol tender locos) have a motor in the tender driving loco wheels via a drive-shaft from the tender to the loco.

The only difference between the original batches and the new releases (According to Dapol's Dave Jones on another Forum) is that the tender has been re-tooled to acommodate their now standard fit bigger "Super Creep" motor rather than the small can-motor used in the original.

I'm quite sure our resident expert/collector of Q1's (SR-Dave) can answer this question as I think he has bought every available version, and not just one of them :thumbsup:

Many Thanks - will be better with "super creep" motor
