Title: Whisk(e)y Investing
Post by: dannyboy on November 02, 2023, 08:47:55 PM
Just out of interest at the moment, has anybody invested in whiskey? The reason I ask is that my brother has bought a cask at an Irish Distillery and he says that it has increased in value by about 18% in less than a year and, on the strength, (40%  ;D ), of that, has just bought another cask. Is it as good an investment as it seems to be - anybody any thoughts?  :hmmm:

Talk about liquidation! My investment wouldn't last long.... it would go down the tubes, so to speak!  ;)

Morning David
No, I haven't invested in Whisky but I have a long answer for you.
I'm up country for a few days but will give you a detailed reply in a few days.
The answer to your question is yes, it is a reasonable investment on the face of it but there is a biggish but.
Cheers
Martin

@port perran
Thanks for that Martin. There is no rush. My brother is coming over in a couple of weeks to visit the distillery that has his casks and I said I will go along to see what's what. (Although I am mainly going to see if there are any 'tastings'  ;) ).
I hope the storm did not affect you - apart from the club damage.  :beers:
