This is inspiring and intimidating in equal measure...

There are 5 separate sections (links on the top left). If the first page doesn't make your head explode, try the others. Text is in German, but the pics speak for themselves.
It's relevant because it is a replica of Stuttgart station in 1:160 scale with no compression at all! My rudimentary German would suggest this took 29 years to complete and it is mind boggling. Take a look.
I have to give Padisher Creel credit for posting this on the RMWeb forum (not sure if that is any of you guys on here), but I just had to share it. I wanted to put it somewhere prominent but the mods may prefer to move it to the Continental European section.

I would not have liked to have done the ballesting on that, did he nick the NASA control center instead of wiring it himself.

Amazing.
Just imagine the cost!
My goodness I get confused with my measly little 10ft x 5ft layout that layout would shorten my life by a few years because of the stress.
No doubt about it that is an awesome setup and I would like 5% of what they spent on it to spend on my layout.
here here, stunning. I would never done it as it takes me ages to do ballasting as I keep putting it off. :Class37: :NGFWagonTour: :NGFWagonTour: :NGFWagonTour: :NGFWagonTour: :Carriage:
Absolutely amazing!
Even the little off-track scenes are incredible.
Given that Stuttgart is about to undergo a major reconstruction*, it's timely to have a replica.
*or is it? Seems to be on then off again.
Absolutely mental lol

My German isn't that good, I'm afraid. I believe one person owns it and there is a life-size replica of the Stuttgart signal box to control it all, and I can only imagine it took more than one person 29 years to build.
That is amazing.. i could not see anywhere the value of the layout must be worth a fortune..
The germans seem to have some of the largest layouts ever, do they not work and have families too see.
Mein Gott! Das ist fantastisch!!!! (or some thing like that) :smiley-laughing:
