29th April The BMRG at the Bristol Show
The BMRG were out in force, we had a layout at the Show, a NGS Area group
Demonstration team and were providing Stewards.
Thanks for posting. Loved the music!
I went to the show on Friday and thought it was a very good show. Well worth a visit. There was a lot of top class modelling on show. There were quite a few layouts that didn't seem to be running many trains. It looked like some of these were having technical issues.
At the risk of being controversial I have to admit to being disappointed with Copenhagen Fields. Yes there is a lot of excellent modelling on it and some wonderful detailing. The size is biblical and the trains are great. But it all looked rather dusty to me. Of course the buildings are quite correctly weathered down but there just seemed to be quite a bit of dust on them as well which spoilt it for me.
Yeah, it's getting a bit long in the tooth now.

@Ditape (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=3799) Thank you very much for posting such a comprehensive look at the layouts.
Enjoyed it all.

That brings back memories, I used to go to the Bristol shows when I lived in Weston super mud back in the late 80s, I started an area group there and we manned the Society stand there a couple of times IIRC. I first met Andy Calvert the Bristol show and a few other Society members whose names escape this 89 year old brain box.
Attended the show in 1978, with the RAF Locking 00 layout. Since then I've never been down that way when the shows been on. If I can the show will get included in a trip that way soon.
