I didn't really know where to post this so here it is. I'm sure a mod will move it if it needs to be.
Anyway, whilst tidying up a little I found this on my workbench. Any idea what it is? From memory it's about 6mm square and has a piece of mesh on it which appears to be bigger than the plastic bit it's stuck too. Could be from a coach, loco, building, anything! I don't want to throw it away so even if nobody knows what it is I will put it in 1 of the many odds & sods boxes for possible future use. Answers on a postcard or on here if it's easier:

I'm pretty sure it's from a diesel shunter. Not sure if it's 08, or 03/04. Beneath the cab, behind the rear wheels.

It's the Cab steps incorpotrating the Jackshaft safety guard from the Right-hand side of a Farish 03 (its upside down in your pic as posted!)
