Title: Bachmann replaces 37417 with 37407
Post by: guest311 on May 29, 2012, 09:53:02 PM
had an e-mail today from Hattons to the effect that Bachmann had replaced the proposed new tooling of 37417 with this

http://www.ehattons.com/52797/Graham_Farish_371_165_Class_37_4_diesel_37407_Loch_Long_in_BR_blue_with_large_logo/StockDetail.aspx (http://www.ehattons.com/52797/Graham_Farish_371_165_Class_37_4_diesel_37407_Loch_Long_in_BR_blue_with_large_logo/StockDetail.aspx)

just when you thought you knew all the ways they could p**s you off  :evil:

Hi There;

When the 2012/13 list was first produced there was a bit of moaning (me included) that the release number was the same as the previous Large Logo release with the older tooling.  To be fair, Bachmann changed this within a few days/weeks of their announcement ....so this has been on the cards for a fair few months now...

Hattons, I'm afraid, are just playing catch-up, probably as they load their system with the next six months pre-orders....

Personally, I'd favour 37407!!!
Much better would have been 37402 Oor Wullie!!!

Then again, you could argue that this is not the first 'Loch Long' either....remember the Royal Scotsman 37428 with differing names on each side (loch Awe/Loch Long)!!!

Wouldn't be better for me, the misses would INSIST we have one on our layout - she's loved the Oor Wullie cartoons since childhood and has a large collection of "The Broons & Oor Wullie" annuals  :smiley-laughing:

i think that is fair enough from bachmann.  you can always renumber it if you want to.

Being originally from Edinburgh she finds it hilarious, but me being a Londoner I have to translate it first by which time the humour is lost!  :smiley-laughing:
