Title: gner livery coaches
Post by: tomtom20 on February 20, 2023, 08:22:41 PM
hope i'm on the right post here. i have a run of 8 dapol n gauge coaches in the gner dark blue livery. i think they are era 8 or 9. i would like to hear suggestions about which loco's would be best suited for this run. i can't find any gner loco's in that livery. did they use other liveries ?
advice very much appreciated

These would be hauled by Class 43 HST power cars, also made by Dapol (but not currently in production). Graham Farish did produce a GNER Class 91 and Driving Van Trailer which, whilst not strictly accurate, would make a nice looking train.

Again, the 91 has been out of production for a number of years but they do show up secondhand.

The Dapol HST has yet to be upgraded to a Next18 decoder socket with integral speaker so you'll need to fit a 6 pin decoder and find space for a third party speaker.

GNER hired in class 90s for use on their Mk4 based trains - the Rfd one would suit if you're happy to ignore the differences between the HST Mk3 and the Mk4.
