I have the two car version and the interior lights in the power car do not work - the cab number 4 does work. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to separate the base from the chassis so that I can inspect the interior and maybe fix the fault?
Regards
Geoff
Have you owned this from new and is it DCC fitted? If the answer is "no" and "yes" in that order, try turning the lights on. The previous owner might have changed the wiring and done away with the cab light.
Otherwise, getting the body off requires you to slide a fingernail between the sole bar and the body - ideally both sides above a bogie at the same time. As I don't have nails long enough I use a Sprag. I slide it (gently) between the body and sole bar and slide it towards the closer end of the body. It requires care but it does work.
If it is a case of spreading the bottom of the bodyshell then I keep a few old blunt scalpel blades to use as "spudgers", that way once you have created a gap you leave the blade in place so it doesn't close up again while you're working on another part of the shell :)

Which is what I meant :dunce:. Note to self, don't post whilst drinking tea have just stripped a motorcycle gearbox.
Thanks , It's a DC version from new, a replacement from Arnold as the original broke down whilst under warranty. Probably old/new stock.
Spugers and Sprag - wonderful words.
