Title: YouTube nastiness
Post by: lil chris on November 01, 2022, 10:25:12 AM
Does anybody know who mr nasty is on youtube. Apparently some old guy has been slagging off other model railway YouTubers, beginners and anyone he does not like and also getting personnel which is un called for. We all have to start somewhere and looking at videos is one way to start. This forum is a good place to start for any new n-gaugers, I always advise them to come here for advice. I just hope I am not subscribed to this nasty person, I think his video has been taken down but he has started a new channel.

Barry Davis - apparently, he's done it before. It's good to see the support for those who were insulted.

Thanks Geoff, he has started up again already, I will make a point of avoiding him. I like watching a few YouTube channels not just model railways. But he had a go at some really nice people, a nice couple Rick and Pauline who do nice videos about bargain hunting model railways and shows. These videos are good for people who can not get out especially after the covid lark. Chris.

Hello Chris

I did contact Rick and he told me that Barry Davis has apologized.

I watch too much YouTube: T10 cricket, lowlights of Sheffield Wednesday (and there's lots of these) and highlights of virtually everything.

Regards

Geoff

Thanks Geoff, yes I am guilty of watching too much YouTube it's addictive. I watch about repairing computers, model railways not just n-gauge, music videos etc just for starters. No need for slagging anybody off especially getting personal about people. For example I do not like Sams trains but I would not dream of slagging him off. If you do not like a channel do not watch it, simple. Chris.

As my mum used to say,"if you can't say something nice about somebody, keep your trap shut"

Or, as was dinned into me "Do as you would be done by".
There's good and bad everywhere on the internet and life in general so you must expect to come across it somewhere.

In the pre internet days, saying something derogatory about someone resulted in a punch in the mouth. Nowadays keyboard warriors can say what they like with little chance of being caught, unless the take aim at somebody famous.
