Title: IOW Ex London Tube stock
Post by: BramptonBranch on October 10, 2022, 07:15:16 PM
Hi All

I'm pondering respraying a couple of the Corgi Olympics tube stock into the livery of the recently retired 483? IOW units
So does anyone have any idea on the shade of red they ran in, also it appears they had white roofs at one time?

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Andy

What's wrong with waiting for the Revolution 1938 stock that ran on the IOW.

I'm sure they will have solved the power train/bogie clearance issues that make the OO version sit too high, by the time the produce the model.

@Ben A (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=94) will probably tell you the RAL number if you ask nicely :)

Here’s a photo of one on display at the IOW Steam Railway. If you contact them the carriage and wagon group might be able to give you the exact colour.

This one’s roof looks very clean, I seem to remember they were more of a grey colour and quite tatty.

Here's the tatty version.
