Title: Iain Rice
Post by: Train Waiting on October 09, 2022, 08:23:51 PM
Hello Chums

Just to let you know Iain Rice has died.  I'm sure most members of our Forum will be familiar with at least some of Iain's writings.  He was an inspiration to so many railway modellers over the years.  And he was a really nice person.

I knew Iain - we had a mutual friend - and although this news is not unexpected as he had been unwell for some time, it is especially sad.

There will, no doubt, be obituaries in the modelling magazines in due course.

With all best wishes.

John

A brilliant Modeller and author who will be missed in the modelling world.

I particularly remember his articles on 4mm construction and compensation in early 'MRJ', and he even inspired me to compensate a buckjumper in my OO days.

RIP

Martyn

Sad news. I've read many of his articles over the years.

Model Railway Journal No. 293 arrived today and contains several pages of obituary and tributes for Iain Rice. There is also more 2mm scale content than usual, although nothing on N gauge.
