Title: Farish Twins CL20 Georgina and Janis
Post by: GlenEglise on September 26, 2022, 10:15:45 PM
I have this 2 part set. I have tried checking t'internet and Forum but so far have not been able to establish if both locos are supposed to be powered.

Can anyone offer some assistance?

Regards

Both are powered.

(Assuming you mean Graham Farish 371-035 Pair of Class 20 locomotives 20904 "Janis" and 20906 "Georgina" in Hunslet-Barclay Livery)

Excluding the HST, the only dummy locomotive Graham Farish have made is the unpowered 0-6-0 tank-ending made for a Shreadded Wheat promotion. Otherwise, the closest they've come is #0887 which was an unpowered class 158 DMU.

Several kits have been made over the years - I think Ian Stoate Models did one for the class 20 around 15-20 years ago but it's not been available for years.

Dapol have made more dummy locos: classes 26, 27, 35, 66, 67, 73, 121, 122, 153 and 156. They've also made unpowered HST power cars (prototype and production types).

Many thanks Steven, I will need to take one apart in that case as I have a non-runner.

Many thanks.

They're both DCC ready so check the decoder/blanking plug is firmly in place.

With the 20's the cab comes off separate to the body to allow access to the DCC plug/chip.

Cheers

86 as well.

They no longer appear to be making any dummy models (apart from one in HST sets / power car pairs).
