Title: New models from Revolution
Post by: ohlavache on September 10, 2022, 01:49:58 PM
If I'm correct, it is not yet on this forum.
Here are the novelties announced by Revolution:
- class 120, https://www.revolutiontrains.com/swindon-120/ (https://www.revolutiontrains.com/swindon-120/)
- Electro Star family, https://www.revolutiontrains.com/electrostar-quality-in-n/ (https://www.revolutiontrains.com/electrostar-quality-in-n/)
- iron ore hoppers, https://www.revolutiontrains.com/iron-ore-hoppers-in-n/ (https://www.revolutiontrains.com/iron-ore-hoppers-in-n/)
- PTA wagons, https://www.revolutiontrains.com/70s-boxes-from-revolution/ (https://www.revolutiontrains.com/70s-boxes-from-revolution/)

Haha, I knew it. Maybe I could justify another ten so I can have one loaded PTA rake and one unloaded.

Got to say I didn't see these coming either, but like yourself I will probably supplement my NGS rake with some more. Especially in the Yeoman variety as I have not done any of those and there are even more decals than the ARC ones!

It will be interesting to see how they go about the couplers. Body mounted like the prototype or bogie mounted which is probably more practical in our scale. I guess they could mix it up and go for bogie mounted on the outers and body mounted on the inners?  With the inners lacking buffers it's possible to use close couplings on these and it makes for a good looking rake.

I imagine, like most Revolution wagons they'll have kinematic pockets on the body.

Very excited by the 120. I can already see a pair of three car sets playing a starring role on my layout!

Should we have a Rapido forum?

Sounds like a plan, they are clearly serious about British N Gauge, so we'll need it sooner or later.

Might need moving out of "reviews" but there is a collection of Rapido threads here:

Wow a 120.  Following an article in the NGS journal some years ago I initially turned some Minitrix coaches into an Ayrshire 126.  I made up 2  3 car sets .  These had a corridor connection at one drivers end to allow a 6 coach formation to run.  Though sometimes a corridor end was mated to the non corridor of the next unit!.  I had 2 pairs of 120 driving ends from BHE which were near enough the same as the 126.  Then when my latest layout was located in the North of Scotland rather than SW I turned these into 120s.  One in green and one in blue with full yellow ends.  Powered by Kato chassis.   Now I will be vey tempted, maybe one in each of the varied livery options

I can only move Post(s) to an existing forum

a Higher Authority is needed!

Can you please define 'forum' as you and I seem to have different ideas and I'm confused by yours?

I agree.

I have been assuming the intent it to open up a section / threads on the forum dedicated to Rapido (in much the same was as Revolution have for example).
