Title: Curse This Forum... :p
Post by: Flakmunky on May 19, 2012, 09:12:57 AM
Curse this forum...  :P For I spend too much time reading / writing on this forum than actual modelling!

I have a lot of little projects to do but never seem to get round to them... But I do seem to get round to checking in here regularly!

Am I the only one who makes this forum an excuse for not doing anything?!

I have several small projects I could be doing right now...

@Bart: Full instructions can be found on the device. Go to Safari, Bookmarks (the little book icon, 3rd one in from the left at the veery top of the screen) et voila! One iPad User Guide!

Look at it this way. Spending time on the forum can save you time, effort and money in the long run as you find out:

which are the locos/gadgets/track/scenery items/tools/gubbins etc that are worth buying and those that are not

where to get the best deal on buying stuff (e.g. I would never have considered buying from Germany/Japan etc before joining the forum)

how to build your layout more quickly without falling into the traps that some of us have

So look upon it as long term planning and research :D

So all this time wasting instead of modelling is Tank's fault!! That's a relief as long as I'm not to blame for all the time I spend on the forum.
Next time SWIMBO highlights the fact that I'm on  :NGF: again I'll just blame Tank for setting up a friendly helpful forum :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

Hopefully you've got broad shoulders Tank  ;)

Hmmm - not sure if I'd get away with the "cheaper than the pub" bit ;)

(right now im waiting for 5 sheets of scalescenes tarmac to finish printing so i can continue a job  ;D )

"we" all know its not cheaper than the pub really but that's the art of deception !  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

What SWMBO doesn't know....... doesn't hurt ME

When it comes to the pub or club, I was never very good at the deception business... somehow I was always found, even when I thought I was in a 'safehouse'.

I was over in SA last year.. isn't the Yorke Peninsula where they have those roadside signs with pictures telling you to stop driving like a coq or a doorknob? When I finally worked it out I nearly went off the road laughing. Would look great on a layout!  :beers:

Not seen any of these yet, but will keep a look out and will post if found. I think most signs are just there to keep you awake. Nowt else to see down here on the YP. We think its busy if you see more than 5 vehicles in 30Km.  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

Yeah, its pretty flat, if I recall. I got as far as a place called Walleroo, and it was on my way back to Adelaide via Balaclarva and Barossa valley that I saw the signs. I didn't get all the way down the peninsula.

Have it on good authority from the brother in law that theses signs still exist in places so will keep the camera ready.
